The international distance competition "New Voices and Songs" is organized with the idea of participating (online) choirs, professional performers, groups and soloists (singers and instrumentalists), poets and artists/practitioners who are very busy or do not have the opportunity to participate in live in other competitions and festivals throughout the year.
The director of the competition is Anya Kravaeva (president of the "Evterpani" Association, music teacher, mezzo-soprano).
Young composers, conductors, students with original songs and plays also participate in the competition, and the "Evterpani" Association repeatedly provides a stage for the performance of new songs and performers throughout the year.
In 2016, 87 singers, young composers, pianists, flautists, choirs and groups from Bulgaria, Austria and France with folklore, pop and jazz and classics aged from 6 to 71 participated in the competition with their videos.
In 2017, the distance competition was organized for the second time. It was held on 07/05/2017 in the recording studio of the composer Alexander Saveliev - chairman of the jury.
The participants in the competition were 92 singers, pianists (choirs, groups, soloists, composers from 6 to 75 years old (professional musicians and singers and amateurs) from Bulgaria, Vienna, Brussels and London.
In August 2017 at the Architect's House in Sofia, at the concert "A Summer Night's Opera" (organized by the association "Arte Libera", the Austrian-Bulgarian Society for Culture and Art "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" - Vienna and the Belgian Association for culture and art "Orpheus" - Brussels) Aneta Todorova - coloratura soprano (Brussels) and Hristina Lazarova - mezzo-soprano (Vienna) were awarded.
The award ceremony and the Gala Concert of the laureates of the second distance competition took place on September 31, 2017 at the NIM (for choirs, groups, choral schools, pianists and opera performers) and on October 1, 2017 at the NDK, Studio 5 (for chamber groups, ensembles, duets and pop soloists).
In 2018, the participants were 92 singers, pianists, a brass quartet from Bulgaria, Belgium and Italy (old music and instruments of the troubadours) from 4 to 70 years old. The gala concert, award ceremony and 10-year anniversary of the "Evterpani" Association was held on 29 September at the National History Museum.
In 2019, there were 107 participants in the competition from Bulgaria and abroad with original songs and songs with a variety of genres. The gala concert was held in the NDK, Studio 5 with guests - composers, conductors, musicians, choirs and donors.
In 2020, as a result of the new conditions due to the presence of Covid 19, the competition expanded its scope and its name: "New Voices, Songs and Arts", and young artists, poets, writers and dancers can participate in it. On October 3, a gala concert of competition laureates was held in the Baroque Hall in Sofia (Oborishte St. No. 5) and 15 years of joint recording work with "Izkustva" publishing house was celebrated.
Since 2020, the competition has expanded its scope and has two editions - summer (June) and Christmas (December), which takes place around Christmas under the name "Christmas Blessing".
From 2021, the First GRAND, GRAN PRIX and BIG PRIZE winners participate in a Gala Concert at the Architect's House - Sofia, and the award-winning choirs are included in a sea festival in July in the city of Nessebar.
REGULATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION:
1. Participants in the vocal-instrumental competition can be: choirs, vocal-instrumental ensembles, brass bands, small groups, soloists - singers and instrumentalists with classical, pop, jazz and folklore.

2. There are no special requirements for the participants in the art and poetry contest.
3. The participants in the dance competition must be soloists. The videos should be of performances in a hall.
4. Children, youth and adults are eligible to participate in the competition, divided into the following age groupe:
I group – 5-8 years
II group - 9 - 12 yearsIII group – 13-15 yearsIV group – 16-18 yearsV group – over 19 yearsThe age of the individual participants is determined by the completed years on the date of the competition. With a large number of participants from a given age group, they are divided into subgroups by year of birth.
The age group for formations and collectives is determined by the predominant number of participants from the respective age group.
5. The competition is held in two stages.In the first stage - until June 10 / December 05, the following are sent to the e-mail of the association "Evterpani" (e-mail: evterpani@abv.bg):
- request for participation and declaration by the parent for the minor participants (download);
- video recording (uploaded to YouTube or Facebook) for the vocal-instrumental and dance competition;
- artists / applicants to send a photo (on a file or a link from a blog or site) of one of their works of fine art;
- poets to send their work (on a file or a link from a blog or site);- import note / statement for transfer of participation fee;- portrait photo of the applicant (for publication in the final protocol).
A ranking will follow on June 15 / December 10, the results of which will be published on this page.
Second stage (award ceremony/Gala concert).
6. Prizes: GRAND PRIZE (at the discretion of the jury), GRAND PRIX (for the entire competition), First GRAND, First, Second and Third prizes for each age group.
From 2019, three new prizes are awarded in the vocal-instrumental competition:- for a song video;- for song choreography;- for professional audio recording.
All participants receive a diploma, and the laureates - medals, statuettes or cups, which will be sent by mail to the addresses indicated by them.
7. For the vocal-instrumental and dance competition, recordings must be up-to-date and not from other competitions. Send links from YouTube or Facebook entries.
8. Applications for participation are accepted no later than June 10 / December 05.
It is mandatory to indicate e-mail, telephone number for feedback and mail address.
Requests by phone are not accepted.Incomplete and incorrectly formed requests, as well as those not submitted within the specified period, will not be taken into account.
9. Participants guarantee the copyright of the audio and video materials they will use for the competition in the declarations to the participation requests.
10. Association "Evterpani" reserves the right for any kind of documentation, filming, broadcasting and distribution of materials without paying rights and compensations.

FUNDING OF THE COMPETITION:
1. The participation fee for groups, soloists, artists and poets and writers in the Distance Competition is BGN 25 (participants in the "Author's music" category have no participation fee if they perform their work themselves).
